We make delicious beers for every palate!
Our desire is to create an inclusive communal experience for all beer-drinkers regardless of their palate by producing a diverse and artistic array of high-quality, handcrafted beers representing the historic, classic, and modern beer styles.
In 1608, Elder William Brewster and his courageous band of believers fled from the established Church of England to pursue religious freedoms in Holland. After twelve short years, many of them arrived in Plymouth, Massachusetts where they formed a colony governed by the Mayflower Compact. Their will and determination resulted in the swift rise of our nation. Today, William Brewster’s separatist spirit is alive and well in the heart of his 12th great-grandson. David Olson, together with his family, is brewing against the grain of the post-prohibition beer conglomerates with the formation of Anti-Establishment Brewing Company. All beers are hand-crafted, artisan beers to be savored and enjoyed as they should be — in the company of family, friends, and local community.
Today at the site of William Brewster's original house in Plymouth, Mass. stands a U.S. Post Office. On the front lawn of that building is a water fountain with the following inscription:
Freely Drink and Quench Your Thirst...
Here Drank the Pilgrim Fathers First
Ironically, Brewster left the service of Queen Elizabeth to assist his ailing father as postmaster and brewer at Scrooby Manor in Nottinghamshire England. During this time he worshiped with his local church in a manner that was against the established church hierarchy and was also a challenge to the Crown. The rest is history!

Jonathan was one of just a few Pilgrims who earned Dutch citizenship before coming to America and may have even enjoyed some of the early Trappist Monk beers from the regions of Zundert and Tilburg. Jon arrived in Plymouth aboard the Fortune in 1621 and married Lucretia Oldham in 1624. Now raise a pint in the name of this brother from another mother.

In 1623, Patience arrived in Plymouth aboard the Anne. She married Thomas Prence, the fourth governor of Plymouth Colony and settled in Eastham, Mass. They had four children before she died in 1634. Now keep calm and raise a pint in the name of Patience.

In honor of the founder’s 12th great aunt, Fear Brewster (1606-1634), we brew traditional dark beers with a twinge of Fear — because it’s terrifying to be in the dark. Fear was born at the height of the Puritans’ persecution while under the constant threat of arrest. She arrived in Plymouth aboard the Anne in 1623 and three years later married Mayflower passenger Isaac Allerton. They had two children together before Fear passed at the age of 28. Fear ye not and raise a pint in her name.
In honor of the founder’s 12th great uncle, Love Brewster (1611-1650), we brew thirst-quenching beers that will open your heart along with your palate. Born in Holland, Love traveled to America with his parents aboard the Mayflower and reached Plymouth in 1620. He married Sarah Collier in 1634, and together they raised four children. Love

Love was a successful farmer and established the town of Bridgewater, Mass., where A.E. Brewing’s founder grew up. Now share the Love and raise a pint in his name.

In honor of the founder’s 12th great uncle, Wrestling Brewster (1614-1627), we brew bitter and sour beers that will grapple with your senses. Wrestling was the youngest sibling of the Brewster family and arrived in Plymouth aboard the Mayflower at the age of six. His name best describes the incessant beating of arduous trials and tribulations the separatists endured during their twelve-year Pilgrimage to the new world. Now put up your dukes and raise a pint in the name of Wrestling.

In honor of Elder William Brewster (1567-1644). Leader of the separatist movement, Brewster was hunted down because of his religious practices, forced to flee to Holland, a fugitive from English authorities, eventually making plans for a colony in America. In his fifties, he sailed on the Mayflower. He was the fourth signer of the Mayflower Compact and believed to be its chief author. He was the elder of the Pilgrim church and for more than 20 years was a leading figure in the colony of Plymouth. In his honor, we will brew a limited series of Imperial Ales that are fit for a king.
Stay tuned and stay thirsty because our anticipated opening will be in 2024.
